(El Centro, Calif.) Arbor Imperial County was recently featured in the news. In late December, Arbor volunteers distributed over 40 coats and sweaters to the homeless at the El Centro Salvation Army. The clothing was collected over a two-week period, and according to Arbor Project Director Martha Anaya, it was the first time the project had donated directly to individuals rather than to a community agency. According to the article in Imperial Valley Press by Silvio J. Panta, Ms. Anaya chose the location because they knew homeless people would be lining up for food.
