Arbor Foster Youth Team to present NAWB Workshop in Washington, DC
Arbor Foster Care experts Ronald Spangler and Virginia Williams Joys are presenting a session at the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWB) later this month. The session explores how to use shrinking financial resources to expand the range of services to youth transitioning out of foster care, integrating the role of employers with other partners. As state and national program strategies increasingly target the hardest to serve – youth who are in foster care – operators are experimenting with “virtual” one stop approaches that stress personal development services. This workshop will explore approaches underway in Allegheny and Philadelphia Counties and New York City that adapt elements common to foster youth centers. The workshop will be presented on Monday, February 25th from 10:30 - 11:45 am at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, DC.
