Services to Jobseekers
- An Arbor One-Stop Center provides the full range of core, intensive, and training services to jobseekers as mandated in the WIA legislation. In addition, services prescribed under other programs are usually provided on-site by partner agencies.
- Service provision is flexible and "seamless." Jobseekers who are adults, dislocated workers, or welfare recipients receive assistance based on their individual needs, rather than by their funding category.
- Center reception, intake, and orientation services are attractive and customer friendly. All partner agencies participate in the provision of these services so that clients can learn the full range of services available to them immediately at walk-in.
- Seminars and workshops on job search techniques, labor market information, local educational opportunities, and job openings are offered frequently.
- Counselors are available to assist jobseekers and make referrals to specific employers. Job Clubs and networking teams are available to help jobseekers help themselves.
- Intensive services and referrals to training are provided to jobseekers eligible for those services. Training eligibility decisions are based on an individual's abilities and interests, and training options are linked to local employment opportunities.
